A groundbreaking Harvard University study found that men who ejaculate more frequently are at lower risk for prostate cancer.
“We evaluated whether ejaculation frequency throughout adulthood is related to prostate cancer risk in a large US-based study. We found that men reporting higher compared to lower ejaculatory frequency in adulthood were less likely to be subsequently diagnosed with prostate cancer.”
-- Harvard University researchers
The study included 32,000 men over a ten year period and divided the participants into three age categories:
- 20-29 years old
- 30-39 years old
- 40-49 years old
With this range of ages, the study addressed the decline in ejaculation frequency as men age which coincides with the risk of prostate cancer increasing as they get older. Since the study was conducted over ten years, it shows long term effects which will inform future prevention strategies.
For example, if the participant had increased ejaculation frequency three years sooner, they could have prevented the development of their prostate cancer.
First of all, the team at GIDDI is impressed and, frankly, grateful that Harvard decided to do this type of study. Ten years is a long time but that kind of duration is needed to truly investigate any issue, especially one as important as preventing prostate cancer.
Health and sexual wellness are pillars of the GIDDI brand and the reasons why we started this business. For centuries, the benefits of prostate massage were known as part of holistic medicine but not often acknowledged by Western medicine and its practitioners.
For a respected institution like Harvard to enter this arena and take on an important longitudinal study on ejaculation and prostate cancer is incredibly brave and will hopefully help thousands of men lower their risk for prostate cancer. For that, we thank them.
Secondly, the study's methodology and outcome were both incredibly thorough and positive!
The Harvard study began by recording the rate of ejaculation frequency for all participants for the year before the study questionnaire was distributed. This established a firm baseline with which to measure the effects of frequent versus infrequent ejaculation on the prostate health of the participants.
After ten years, the researchers found conclusively that frequent ejaculation lowers the risk of prostate cancer.
Prostate massage is a great way to increase your ejaculation frequency and can be a very pleasurable experience. Prostate massage can also lead to stronger and longer lasting erections, as well as reduced pain and swelling in the prostate gland.
